April Fools is an indie rock band based out of Brooklyn. In February 2024, April Fools began rehearsing in a seedy Midtown Manhattan practice space, where lead vocalist Olivia Eguia and her brother, lead guitarist Charlie Eguia, joined forces with writer-producer Jaden Gabriel, bassist Khadija Aslam, and drummer Liz Musinsky. Within a year, the band played a dozen shows across New York’s small-venue circuit and released their debut EP, Knock Knock. Almost immediately after, the group began work on the follow-up, aptly titled Who’s There?, in Jaden’s bedroom studio. After months of intimate DIY sessions and a week-long recording stint with Charlie Dahlke (The Brazen Youth, Mei Semones, Trophy Wife) at Ashlawn Recording Co., April Fools is ready to share their sophomore project.

Who’s There? (out OCTOBER) marks a significant development in the group’s sound. Rather than asking, “How do we sound good?” the Fools ask, “How do we sound like us?” The answer lies somewhere between the lines of their heart-wrenching yet cheeky lyricism. The project combines addictive pop melodies, driving rhythms, and haunting vocal performances – stitched together through a slew of production styles – to create something raw, earthy, and unmistakably homegrown.
