A few months back I had the opportunity to speak with singer-songwriter Sam Soto, a 22 year old singer-songwriter from Santa Barbara, California and currently based out of Nashville, Tennessee. I would describe his music as slightlyCherub-sounding with a dreamy-grunge-upbeat-flair to it. Sam was a super cool and down-to-earth guy and makes music with his friends in his community in Nashville. Many whom he met at Belmont University (some of which I’ve also had the opportunity to interview) where he was able to graduate with a degree in songwriting and design communications. The scene there seems to be really popping as well as being an extremely conducive, accepting, and fun place to make music. Sam Soto is an extremely talented singer, songwriter, musician and overall artist. He has linked up with his pal and visual artist Chase Denton on a few separate occasions to make some super rad videos/visuals for some of his singles which I’ll include below. Sam has yet to release his first record, but his first five singles available right now, especially (in my opinion) Bittersweet (2020) and his newest single LALA (2020), are really awesome and more than dance-worthy. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Sam Soto will be releasing next, but I have no doubt it’s going to be #absolutelyflames.
